Congratulations to everyone in two Killarney swimming clubs! We are now officially twinned with Killarney Swim Club in Calgary, Canada – and there we were thinking we were unique! What’s more, they have been around for over 50 years.

Killarney Swim Club, Calgary are a big outfit with over one hundred swimmers (and that’s just in the under 8 age group) two full-time coaches and a full-time secretary. Their website is well worth looking up, with some seriously impressive records.

Samantha met their secretary recently and there was a formal exchange of hats (which is what us swimming clubs like to do when we twin with each other). Unfortunately for our Samantha, this was not during an all-expenses paid trip to Calgary. No, it was in the foyer of the Listowel Arms Hotel. Maybe another time (see photo).
